Revell 30 Model A Top Chop
Revell 30 Model A Top Chop
Since I was able to acquire another copy of the Revell 30 Model A kit I wanted to cast it as the two part body. There where some requests about different roof heights an it was gonna be easier to master different roof parts an make molds than the one piece body I previously had done.
After trying to cut, glue, an finish a resin copy with little success I had to think of another way. It came to me that if I could make a mold of the bottom of the top then I could slide in a top section cut down into the mold as resin is curing it would give me an exact fit.
Step Four: Now That’s A Chop
After giving the resin enough time to cure it was time to take the part out an see if it worked. The resin doesn’t actually bond to itself so I was able to clean up the extra resin. It did have some air voids but that is something I can fix by putting resin into the holes to cure. After some initial cleanup I think it is gonna work.
