1/24 resin BBC Moroso Dress Up Set

This resin Moroso Engine Dress-Up kit for big block chevy started with valve covers from a Monogram 1/24 Pro Street Firebird kit. They’re a pretty nice detailed part on their own, so they have been box stock recast. The chrome was carefully removed from the master, and the plastic was meticulously cleaned of any residue before the master was used for the mold. The original air cleaner from an unknown kit source was stripped of chrome and then cleaned of any residue, then the molded-in air filter was sanded away from the top lid. The air cleaner is available in real metal coatings or solid colors to match a variety of Moroso engine accessories including valve covers. This kit includes two “Moroso” embossed stamped steel-style valve covers, 14in classic Moroso air cleaner lid with a separate base, and a pair of push-in oil breather caps.

The 1/25 version of the valve covers was made by adding thinner to the silicone when pouring the mold of the 1/24 scale part, when the thinner evaporated the mold shrunk giving me a smaller scale part.
