This intake from the AMT 70 1/2 Baldwin Motion kit served as the foundation to build this intake for the master. Because the original part did not fit the kit engine, what began out as a simple extension developed into an all-out effort to make it resemble its full-scale counterpart. The intake that was chosen to be the reference is the GM3933163, 1968-1969 Camaro Big Block Aluminum Intake Manifold.

Intake bolts were added, which necessitated the addition of tabs above the runners to accommodate certain bolt details. The rear section also received a few small strength ribs and the boss for the coil bracket. To give things a more defined shape, photoetched “gaskets” were glued to the surface. To achieve the finished appearance, body filler has to be applied in some of the gaps.
